February is Love Month! This week: Pray for Love for the Lost

Love the Lost
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”  Luke 19:10

Jesus came to look for the lost, those who haven’t received the Salvation of The Lord, and to save them. Romans 3:23 says, “
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” All are lost until they are found. Those around us who haven’t believed are the very fields we were sent to harvest by The Lord when He said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to The Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38  It’s our responsibility to love the lost and go out and work to give them an opportunity to believe in The Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus recruited His disciples by going out and saying, “Follow Me!” He worked constantly His whole adult life to bring in those who would believe, right until the last moments of His life He was seeking the lost. The thief on the cross recognized Jesus as The Son of God when he prayed, “Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” There is no record of Jesus speaking to the thieves, yet, Jesus’ gentleness and submissiveness to His unjust punishment must have spoken to the thief and witnessed to him that this is indeed God’s Son.

You may not think about the unsaved very often, and you can’t help that you don’t love them; remember, we can pray about anything and everything. If we need love for anyone, The Lord will help us develop love, and anything we need to obey a command of The Lord’s, He is happy to answer, I believe.

For whosoever shall call upon the Name of The Lord shall be saved.” Joel 2:32

Who do you know who needs to make Jesus their priority? Have you prayed for them? If not, pray for them today.

How can you grow closer in your relationship with The Lord?
