Eternal Pursuit
October 29, 2026

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Imagine looking in a mirror, and instead of seeing your likeness you see the glory of the Lord – His face; that’s the goal. Moses had such a radiance of the glory of God’s presence that he had to wear a veil to protect the congregation. God’s plan is to take servants from servanthood and transform (that means CHANGE) us into the image of God; from one amazing experience of His glory and presence to a greater experience and realization of who He is and what He has done for us.

1 Peter 1:8 says, “
For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This “continuing to grow” is our eternal pursuit of God and His glory. As we grow, we change, and become more like Him. Some children experience growing pains in their joints; most changes we make to become like The Lord cause some discomfort, and often even pain. When we allow God to transform us, we realize that His pressing, molding, and changing is making us better, and we’ll know there is purpose in our pain. This trust creates a desire to become even more like Him, so the chase for God continues.

A popular description of the Christian experience today is the word “Stuck”. If you feel your walk with God is in neutral, and you haven’t grown closer or had an experience with God in a while, remember: The Lord is ever present with you. He is Holy and deserves our Praise, honor, and Worship; He’s worthy of ALL our praise. If He feels far away, make room for Him to come and sit with you as you tell Him how great and wonderful He is. If you feel He disappointed you or let you down in some way, ask Him to help you understand, then worship Him – because He will help you, and He is worthy of our worship even when we don’t understand.
