Belonging

“My beloved is mine and I am His; He pastures His flock among the lilies.” Song of Solomon 2:16

A few years ago, many people realized the desire to belong. It seems the need for connection was felt on a global scale. The church made efforts to respond and include those feeling disassociated into fellowship; however, the greatest invitation to belong comes from the lover of our souls. The Lord God Himself wants you to know you are HIS, and He is yours. To belong to The Lord is to know He can be trusted at all times, in every situation; for Him to belong to you is to understand you will never be without the greatest friend, Father, and brother alongside you.

If you’re ever tempted to believe God has failed you, understand that there are things you don’t understand. You belong to God, and He will never fail you. He belongs to you, and you can always depend on Him - this doesn’t mean everything will go as we hope or even pray, but everything will go in a way that will be good for you when all things are worked together.

Psalm 118:2 says, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” He is mine; He is yours; we have Him. He is with us all the time and will never leave us, nor will He abandon us. We can count on Him because He isn’t like those who have let us down – He is God, our God, and we can give Him all our trust. You belong to God, and He belongs to you.
