Remain in Me

If you remain in Me and My Words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”  John 15:7 NIV

If you abide in Me, and My Word abides in you, ask what you will and it shall be done.”
John 15:7 ASV

If we abide or remain in The Lord: to abide is to remain, stay, wait, and dwell – if we “hang out” with God and His Word is in our hearts, we can have our prayers answered. For a long time, I thought, “I pray, I read the Bible, why aren’t all my prayers answered?” When I asked The Lord that exact question, here is what I found: to abide, remain, stay, and wait in The Lord is to keep Him as the focus of all I do, say, think, and believe. Pleasing God becomes my purpose when I remain in Him. When God’s Word abides and remains in Me, it becomes the barriers that keep my life on the path of righteousness for His name's sake. The power to overcome temptation is readily available when obeying God’s Word is my goal in life. When we’re close to The Lord, and His Word is in us, our desires become His desires; we want what He wants. Our motivations, the reason we want certain things, are pure, not designed to position ourselves higher or greater.

Psalm 37:4 says, “
Delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
I’ve heard this scripture taught that if we are happy in The Lord, He will give us what we want. But I believe it says, if we are happy to be in The Lord (abiding and remaining), He will place His desires, or give you the desires of your heart. The Lord will help us to want the right things.

Abide in The Lord, rest under the shadow of The Almighty, put your trust in Him, it’s the most peaceful, joyful life we can have until we get to heaven. Remain in Him.
