February is Love Month! This week: Pray and let God Love You

This is Love
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.” 1 John 4:8-12

People try all sorts of things to become secure in themselves; I’ve heard it said like this, to be “comfortable in your own skin.” The most wonderful way to become confident, secure, and happy is to allow God to love you. When you spend time with The Lord just to learn from Him, the first thing you are going to learn is how He is crazy about you. I’m sure you know that God has counted the hairs on your head; He knows how many there are, even if the number is constantly changing. He has your name carved in the palm of His hand, and The Word says He thinks of you more times than you can count. You are always on His mind. He hears your thoughts and knows your motives, sometimes before we even realize them.

God
is love; it isn’t something He feels or experiences, He is love itself.
God proved His love for us by sending Jesus, His one and only Son, to die for us. Since God loved us, we ought to also love Him and one another. When we love one another, God’s love is made complete in us, and I believe that’s when those in the world can see God in us.

If the challenges of life ever make you feel that God doesn’t love you, remember, emotions are not facts. God’s love for you is a fact, no matter if you feel it or not. Your feelings don’t change who God is and how He cares for you.

Romans 5:8,
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this; while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
