Free From Guilt
April 30, 2026

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death…for those who do not live according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1-4

We who have accepted Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins, and have allowed Him to make our hearts His home, are no longer guilty of our past sins. We aren’t guilty, there is no shame for what we have done, God is not looking at us with disapproval (even if those close to us do), we are not to blame for things we committed in the past, we’re FREE!

Jesus’ perfect life, His death on the cross, and His resurrection, were the price of our freedom; and Jesus paid the price for our “not guilty” verdict from our Heavenly Father. When we relive our failures and feel guilty, we’re trespassing on God’s forbidden places. If The Lord refuses to remember our transgressions, and He paid for them with His only Son, who are we to go and retrieve them?

Our emotions are subject to our faith. When feelings of guilt or shame emerge, draw your sword – the Sword of the Spirit, and remember Romans 8:1, “
There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!” YOU are in Christ Jesus!

Our feelings do not determine our standing with The Lord; Jesus blood determined that. Now, we can walk free by walking in the Spirit of God, instead of our flesh.

Jesus opened our jail cell. Let’s get out of there!
