If It Isn't Good, It Isn't Over

“All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord, who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Everyone faces challenges and hardships, and when we do, it’s most important to turn to the one who loves you the most and cling to Him, the Lord your Salvation, the Lover of your soul. We can trust Him because He is good and will not give us more trouble than we can bear. As believers, we know our pain and sorrow have purpose; God will use our pain for many good reasons. Romans 8:28 says, “All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord, who are called according to His purpose.” So, if you haven’t seen good come from your bad situation, God isn’t finished yet.

When we deal with hardships, it is an opportunity to trust and believe God’s Word. Trust that He would never take something from us but will use every situation for good; with God, nothing is wasted, not even our pain. When faced with a choice to trust or blame God, we can have faith in God’s Word. He will reward us for our trust in Him.

The Lord prepares us for trials and ensures we’re capable of leaning on Him before allowing them access to our lives. Psalm 46:1 says, “…God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.” Corey Ten Boom described her family’s tragic experience during her time in a Nazi concentration camp during WWII by saying, “Sometimes His presence was so near it was total darkness.” Psalm 119:111 says, “Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart” (ESV) - This means if he was so close and so near the Ten Boom family, He will do the same for you, His testimonies are our heritage, too.

“Man is born to trouble, as surely as sparks fly upward.” Job 5:7
Edwin Louis Cole said, “Crisis is normal to life,” and God promises that His goodness is normal to His children. If it isn’t good, it isn’t over; you can trust the Lord.
