Softly, Gently He Came to Us
December 11, 2025

“…his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace". Isaiah 9:6

Prophesy spoke of the government being on His shoulders, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and the increase of His reign there will be no end.

The Prophets were given words by God to describe the eternal, spiritual significance of the coming Savior of the world. Wordly-minded men assumed the grand event of a coming king would look like the regalia and pomp they required as world leaders. However, significance to God can come gently, softly, and humbly on a donkey. Momentous occasions on a God-size scale can make an entrance so quiet and soft the world would hardly notice.

Few may know your name in this world, the last stage you stepped on may have been for an elementary school play, yet your significance in the Kingdom of heaven may be unmeasurable to those whose lives you’ve touched. The book of Hebrews reminds us God is a rewarder; He sees you, and He knows all you do for Him. The most significant people in our lives often come softly and gently and are hardly noticed by the rest of the world.
